The Smith Point Hawk Watch: 20 Years and Counting with Dr. Susan Heath, avian conservation biologist with Gulf Coast Bird Observatory!

Amazing flyers, hawks are strikingly beautiful. In a captivating display, the spectacle of hawk migration plays out on the Texas coast each fall when kettles of hawks and other raptors, numbering over 52,000, follow a topographic path - not so far from The Woodlands - to Smith Point on the Bolivar Peninsula. With stunning photography Dr. Heath will cover 20 species, revealing identifying characteristics, adaptations for survival and natural history.
