Black Bears of East Texas: Return of a Texas Native. Dr. Christopher Comer, Professor of Wildlife Management, Stephen F. Austin University
Intelligent, shy and adaptable, black bears capture the imagination! The large mammal was once plentiful throughout the state. Dr. Comer will reveal the wonder of black bears, their habits, current range and challenges. Plus: Discovery Trunk with hands-on activities!

Located on the edge of the Big Thicket, Montgomery County is home to a diverse plant and wildlife population. Walk in the Woods Nature Lecture Series provides an introduction to the unique species that inhabit our community.
