The Woodlands Township Board holds meeting

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (October 27, 2017) – The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a regular meeting on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard.

Before addressing agenda items, the Board of Directors issued three proclamations.

To celebrate the economic and environmental value of recycling, the Board of Directors proclaimed Saturday, November 11, 2017 as America Recycles Day in The Woodlands Township.

In recognition of the contributions servicemen and women have made to the cause of peace and freedom around the world, the Board of Directors honor and recognize Saturday, November 11, 2017 as Veterans Day.

The Board also proclaimed Saturday, November 25, 2017 as Small Business Saturday in The Woodlands Township.

The Board of Directors also accepted reports from Village Association representatives from Alden Bridge and Cochran’s Crossing.

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:

  • Approved the advancement of the approved FY2018 WFD Capital Project – Portable Radio Replacement to FY2017;

The Board of Directors then moved on to take the following actions on the Regular Agenda:

  • Received and accepted a presentation from Precinct 3 Commissioner Noack on Montgomery County’s request for federal funding to conduct a mitigation study that would include the Spring Creek watershed;
  • Approved the placement of Township Proclamations under a Proclamation tab on The Woodlands Township’s website and requested staff to research placement of framed Proclamations within The Woodlands Township main building at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.;
  • Received and accepted an update from The Woodlands Joint Powers Agency regarding Municipal Utility District #60 water quality issues and mitigation efforts;
  • Received and accepted an update from The Woodlands Joint Powers Agency regarding residential flooding issues in Twinberry;
  • Received and accepted presentations on the current litigation involving San Jacinto River Authority and the City of Conroe;
  • Received and accepted a quarterly update on Law Enforcement;
  • Received and accepted the financial report;
  • Received and accepted a quarterly update from The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau;
  • Accepted the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and the Report on Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards for the year ended December 31, 2016, as recommended by the Audit Committee;
