THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (February 22, 2019) – Don’t miss the chance to showcase your creativity by competing in the Youth Art Contest at the 11th annual Spring Arts in the Park on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Rob Fleming Park, from 2 to 6 p.m. The contest is open for youths 18 years and under. Submissions will be accepted through Friday, March 1, 2019, at 5 p.m. at The Woodlands Township, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.
The theme of the contest is Art in Public Places. The Woodlands is home to more than 50 outdoor sculptures along with 20 art benches and continues to grow each year. With stunning visual displays in each village, art is everywhere. Submissions for the Youth Art Contest are to focus on any of these impressive pieces of art with the artist’s own unique interpretation of their beauty.
The Youth Art Contest is open to artists 18 years and under and includes three age categories: 7 years and younger, 8 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years old. Submissions will be on display at the event. First, second and third place winners from each category will be recognized on stage during the event.
The Art Contest Entry Form, which includes detailed guidelines for submissions, is available at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/artsinthepark.
Arts in the Park is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates art, music and drama in the local community.
