National Night Out in The Woodlands

Each year, residents of The Woodlands are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend an evening outside with neighbors. Neighbor knowing neighbor is one of the most effective ways to prevent crime. Local law enforcement and The Woodlands Fire Department will briefly visit with residents of many of the neighborhoods that register their parties with the Township.

Those planning to attend the event should practice social distancing and continue following all guidelines established by the CDC when in public spaces and around others outside of your household. Please note all information is subject to change, pending local, state and federal Orders or Declarations.

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
  • Generate support for local anti-crime efforts.
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Visit the National Association of Town Watch website to learn more about the National Night Out campaign and how it is celebrated across the nation.
