THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (January 28, 2016) – The Township honored more than 200 volunteers at a special Volunteer Recognition event January 27, 2016, including Volunteer of the Year awards for the Township’s departments of Environmental Services, Covenant Administration, Parks and Recreation and Neighborhood Watch.
The Township Chairman of the Board of Directors Ed Robb summed up the reason for the evening’s festivities by stating, “We are truly fortunate to live in such a special community. Of the many things that make The Woodlands such a wonderful place to live are the residents who go above and beyond to improve our community. This includes the many residents who regularly serve selflessly to enhance the quality of life for all of us. And for these volunteers, we are truly grateful.”
Recipients of the awards for the Environmental Services Department were Maria Rockwell, Annette McMullen, Jacqueline Lenz, Jennie Bass, Carolyn Moore and Gene Uzzle. Volunteers recognized from the East Shore Neighborhood Watch included Jennifer Key, Cheryl Brogan and Jennifer Maloof. The Parks and Recreation Department recognized Sandra Sutherland, and Arthur Bredehoft received the award for the Covenant Administration Department.
Also receiving recognition were members of the Bicycle Advisory Task Force, CERT: The Woodlands Community Emergency Response Team Committee, the Law Enforcement Advisory Council, the Development Standards Committee, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council, the Residential Design Review Committees, The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors and Marketing Committee, and the Village Associations.
