EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY..... TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AT GROGANS MILL AND WOODLANDS PARKWAY

The GRP Division of the San Jacinto River Authority experienced a water line leak at the intersection of Grogan's Mill Road and Woodlands Parkway in The Woodlands, TX in the early hours this morning.

At this time Woodlands Parkway east and west bound exits to Grogan's Mill Road have been completely closed. Grogans Mill Road north and south bound at Woodlands Parkway have been closed. Drivers on Grogan's Mill Road will be able to make a right turn at the intersection to go east and west on Woodlands Parkway

SJRA personnel have isolated the line which stopped the leak, and water in the intersection is receding. This line is under the southbound pavement of Grogan's Mill Road, and County officials are currently assessing the condition of this portion of the roadway. Once water fully recedes, SJRA personnel will be able to investigate the cause of the leak and make necessary repairs. This leak will not cause an interruption in water service, since this waterline provides supplemental surface water to GRP customers, who also have groundwater wells.
