THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (September 15, 2016) – The Woodlands Township held a special Board of Directors meeting Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, at 6 p.m.

During the meeting, the Board of Directors adopted The Woodlands Township Consolidated Budget for fiscal year 2017 of $121.2 million, which includes a continuation of base level services and funding for Board-approved budget initiatives. The 2017 Budget continues to prioritize public safety and community maintenance while responding to resident requests for enhanced parks and recreation amenities and pedestrian and bike plan improvements. The Board adopted a 2016 ad valorem tax rate of 23 cents per $100 of taxable property value, which is equal to the rate in effect for the current tax year. The adopted property tax rate consists of a tax rate of 21.25 cents on each $100 of taxable property value within the Township for maintenance and operations, and a tax rate of 1.75 cents on each $100 of taxable property value within the Township for debt service. These numbers equal the total rate of 23 cents.
