[ARCHIVED] Young artists discover the power of drawing

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (September 30, 2016) – The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department is offering the Young Rembrandts program to young artists, ages 3½ to 6, this fall. Young Rembrandts is an award-winning art enrichment program that has taught the power of drawing to thousands of young artists across the United States and Canada. Art classes are held Thursdays, October 6 to 27, 2016, from 10:15 to 11 a.m. at The Woodlands Township Recreation Center, 5310 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, 77381. The program fee for Township residents is $65 and $75 for non-residents.

The Young Rembrandts program utilizes an original step-by-step method that has been developed for more than 25 years to teach young artists to draw. The lessons are designed to help young artists improve their fine motor skills, patience levels, focus and ability to stay on task. As the young artists learn and use technical drawing skills, they discover that all complex objects can be broken down into familiar shapes. Then, the young artists use problem solving skills, innovation, and imagination to create their masterpieces. The program gives young artists the opportunity to build confidence in their drawing skills while having fun.

To register for the program, or for more information, please visit www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov, or call The Woodlands Township Park and Recreation Department at 281-210-3950.
