THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (October 6, 2016) – The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department hosts Halloween events every October, and volunteers are needed to help make these events especially spooktacular for 2016.
The Halloween season kicks off October 14, 2016, with The Wicked Wonderland Family Carnival at Rob Fleming Park, an event that was enjoyed by more than 6,000 people last year. Volunteers are needed to help with ticket sales, concessions, carnival games and fall photo zones. These volunteer positions are a great opportunity for families to enjoy the Halloween season together and a great way for students to gain volunteer hours for afterschool clubs. This event is enjoyed by all ages, and stage entertainment is free. Games and concessions are available for a fee.
The Haunted Trail at Bear Branch Park will run Fridays, October 21 and 28, and Saturdays, October 15, 22 and 29, 2016. This spooky event is recommended for ages 8 and up, and volunteers are needed to work as scary scene actors, trail tour guides and survey takers. This event is also a great volunteer opportunity for school groups.
On October 23, 2016, Trick or Treat Trail is where princesses, pirates, ghosts and goblins are welcomed to Town Green Park for trick-or-treating, strolling entertainment, inflatables, games, costume contests and more. Volunteers are needed to assist with monitoring children’s games, costume contests and distributing information. Trick or Treat Trail is presented by Wells Fargo.
Volunteer registration is now open for The Wicked Wonderland Family Carnival and The Haunted Trail. Volunteer registration for Trick or Treat Trail will be available October 11, 2016. Families and groups who wish to show their Halloween spirit and get involved in the community are encouraged to contact The Woodlands Township Recreation Center at 281-210-3950 or email email@example.com.
