THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (November 10, 2017) – The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department invites residents, friends and families to enjoy a variety of spectacular holiday activities and entertainment during the 35th annual Lighting of the Doves festival, Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Town Green Park, located at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands 77380.
Before the festival, don’t miss the season opening of The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center, presented by Sewell. The Ice Rink opens daily on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 10 a.m., and is located at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, 77380, near the north gate entry of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and the intersection of Lake Robbins Drive and Six Pines Drive. The 21,000-square-foot multipurpose facility offers great ice skating, lighting, sound, tables and concessions, with rental options available for birthday parties or corporate events. The Lighting of the Doves festival is a long-standing tradition in The Woodlands that signifies the start of the holiday season in the community. Symbolizing hope and peace for the holidays, the ceremonial illumination of the doves attracts thousands of residents and visitors each year.
The festival will feature a variety of stage performances, snow play areas, vendor booths, children’s activities and strolling entertainment. The event will culminate with a special appearance by Santa Claus arriving by sleigh down The Woodlands Waterway and a dazzling fireworks display, weather permitting.
