The Woodlands Township shares this information on behalf of the South County Fourth of July Committee. 

The Woodlands, TX – It is in the best interest for safety and security of spectators, participants, volunteers, vendors, sponsors and venues that the South County 4th of July committee has come to the difficult decision to cancel the 43rd Annual 4th of July Parade. “We realize this is a disappointment for everyone involved; however, we would rather err on the side of caution than put anyone in harm. This is the first parade in over two decades that has been canceled” said Kelly Dietrich, President of the South County 4th of July Committee. 

Multiple forecasts, including one from the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, have called for heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds to occur the morning of July 4th. At this time, the parade is not rescheduled. 

About South County 4th of July Committee: 

The South County 4th of July Committee is an organization of nine dedicated volunteers responsible for the 4th of July Parade in The Woodlands area and is designated as a 501(c)(3) corporation funded through donations and sponsorships. The parade would not occur without the support of The Woodlands Township. The parade dates back to the late 1970’s when it was originally organized by The Woodlands Lions Club. The South County 4th of July Committee was organized in the early 1990’s.
