[ARCHIVED] Solid waste services not impacted by Labor Day holiday

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (August 15, 2018) – The Woodlands Township reminds residents that all solid waste services in the community will occur as usual during the Labor Day holiday.  There will be no interruption or delay of services due to the holiday. Waste Management will provide curbside pick-up of trash, recycling and yard trimmings to residents on their regular service day, including Monday, September 3, 2018.

“Residents will receive recycling and trash pick-up on Labor Day, and all services will occur as usual for the remainder of the week,” said John Geiger, environmental services manager for The Woodlands Township.

To ensure uninterrupted curbside service, residents are reminded to keep streets clear of parked cars and service vehicles on their pick-up day. Waste Management trucks are large and need clear access in order to service streets. Drivers will not be able to provide service to the street if there is a safety issue or possibility for property damage due to parked vehicles. As a safety reminder, if trash trucks cannot drive down a street, it is very likely that emergency vehicles will have difficulty accessing homes also.
