THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (August 24, 2018) – In celebration of National Night Out, residents are invited to salute our first responders by donating blood on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive. This free event is coordinated by The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch and will include crime prevention tools and resources.
In addition to lifesaving blood donations, residents can represent their village in the Hands-Only CPR Village Challenge. Hands-Only CPR training will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each resident trained will earn one training point for their village. The three villages with the highest percentage of residents trained will earn money for their village association scholarship funds. Training is free and does not include certification.
CHI St. Luke’s, the program sponsor of the Hands-Only CPR Village Challenge, will also participate in this event. CHI St. Luke’s and the American Heart Association will offer blood pressure checks and provide information about heart health.
While donating blood only takes a few minutes, it can save as many as three lives. To schedule your donation time, please visit www.twts.chi-stlukesbloodcenter.org. Blood donors will also receive a free T-shirt.
