THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (October 9, 2019) – The Woodlands Township is seeking volunteers to be considered for multiple appointments to the Development Standards Committee for two-year terms beginning in 2020.

The Development Standards Committee (DSC) is an architectural design and review committee that considers and acts upon requests for variances from property owners and  considers appeals of the decisions made by Residential Design Review Committees. DSC is also responsible for adopting rules and regulations regarding the administration, interpretation, and enforcement of The Woodlands Covenants, Restrictions, Easements, Charges, and Liens. DSC typically meets on the first and third Wednesday evenings of every month and meets  with other committees about four times a year.

A certain number of  appointees are required to have experience in architecture, engineering, contracting, building code enforcement, or a related field. Applications are available at the Township office at 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard or on The Woodlands Township website. The deadline to  submit applications is  Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 5 p.m. All applications must be received, not postmarked, by the deadline. Resumes noting training or experience in related fields may be included with the application.

Applicants are invited to attend The Woodlands Township Board of Directors meeting on November 20, 2019, at 6 p.m. to address the Board. The Board of Directors will consider appointments to DSC at the Board meeting on December 4, 2019.
