THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (November 18, 2019) – The Woodlands Township invites residents, friends and families to enjoy a variety of exciting holiday activities and entertainment during the 37th annual Lighting of the Doves Festival on Saturday, November 23, 2019, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Town Green Park, located at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, 77380.
The Lighting of the Doves festival is a long-standing tradition in The Woodlands that heralds the beginning of the holiday season in the community. Symbolizing hope and peace for the holidays, the ceremonial illumination of the doves attracts thousands of residents and visitors each year.
The festival will feature a variety of stage performances that showcase the cultural diversity of The Woodlands, snow play areas, snow slides, vendor booths, children’s activities and strolling entertainment. The event will culminate with a special appearance by Santa Claus sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital arriving by sleigh down The Woodlands Waterway and a dazzling fireworks display, weather permitting. Santa festivities will take place at the Service King Celebration Stage beginning at approximately 7 p.m.
Inflatables, snow play areas and snow slides require a wristband, which can be purchased for $10. Wristbands provide unlimited access to the activities for the duration of the event. Concessions will be available for purchase. Parking will be available at the orange, yellow, blue and white lots at 2002 Timberloch Place. Other designated parking areas include the Town Center Parking Garage and Gold Lot and surface lot at the southeast corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive.
Lighting of the Doves is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital, America’s ER®, Service King, The Howard Hughes Corporation®, Waste Management and Wright’s Printing.
