THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (January 29, 2020) – The Spring Arts in the Park festival is set for Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rob Fleming Park, located at 6055 Creekside Forest Drive in The Woodlands, TX 77389.
This year the Youth Art Contest will return for young artists. Young artist submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. on March 8, 2020, and the entry form can be found on the Township website at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/artsinthepark.
The Youth Art Contest is open to artists 18 years and under and includes three age categories: 7 years and younger, 8 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years old. Submissions will be on display at the event. First, second and third place winners from each category will be recognized on stage during the event.
The theme of this year’s art contest is Outdoor Adventures in The Woodlands. With the new Texas TreeVentures aerial adventure course, two recreation centers, two boat houses and more than 140 parks in the community, there is plenty of adventure to inspire a variety of artist interpretations.
Arts in the Park is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates art, music and drama in the local community. The event features local vendors selling original artwork, children’s activities and live entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, grab a bite to eat at the food trucks and enjoy live stage performances.
