Hurricane Game Plan and Supply Kit

Building an emergency kit and having a game plan before a storm is imperative. Supply kits should include food, water, flashlights, batteries, medications, first aid supplies and other common essentials that may be needed during and after a storm. Remember to consider the needs of your unique household when preparing, especially if you have young children, elderly family members or pets. Recovering from the damage caused by a hurricane or weather-related event can be stressful and might make you vulnerable to those preying on others' misfortune. Scammers often appear after storms, posing as FEMA agents or other government representatives. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) offers advice for consumers about how to avoid scams after a storm. Stay in Touch with the Township

The Woodlands Township offers Emergency Notifications to help inform residents. It is recommended to sign up for these notifications as well as subscribing to the Talk of the Township e-newsletter and following the official Township social media channels. In the event of an emergency, radio station KSTAR 99.7 FM will feature information specific to The Woodlands. Please note, the Township will provide updates when possible, but residents should also follow and subscribe to alerts from the local news/weather stations.
