County News
Montgomery County COVID-19 Case Count increases by 125 positives
Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, is saddened to confirm an additional death related to COVID-19, bringing the total to 50. A woman in her 70s, from Montgomery, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

  • TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 125 to 5,294.
  • ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 95 to 2,502.
  • 54 residents are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
  • 2,637 people have clinically recovered.

Harris County Public Health (HCPH) publishes their daily case count, combined with the City of Houston's daily case count, here: https://tinyurl.com/tzymvk5. Cases by zip code in Harris County can be found by clicking on areas of the map.

The Village of Creekside Park is located in two zip codes: 77375 and 77389, and these also include Magnolia, Augusta Pines/Auburn Lakes/West Rayford Road in northwest Harris County. Today, Harris County is reporting zip code 77375 has 396 confirmed positive cases with 171 active cases, and 77389 has 228 confirmed positive cases with 63 active cases.

Testing in Montgomery County
A reminder, online registration is now available for COVID-19 testing through the MCPHD/MCHD voucher program. Click on “Need to be tested?” on mchd-tx.org or mcphd-tx.org and follow the instructions. Call the COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for more information.
 
Testing in Harris County
Get tested, it’s free! To sign up for testing, visit hcphtx.org or ReadyHarris.org or you can call 832-927-7575. View flyer for more information. Once tested, results from HCPH testing sites can take up to 5 days to process. As you wait for your results, stay home and self-isolate, especially if you are sick, practice social distancing (6 ft/2 m) and wear a face-covering. Governor Announces Additional Testing Sites
Governor Greg Abbott announced on Sunday, July 12, 2020, that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has extended federal support of Community Based Testing Sites in Dallas and Houston through July 31, 2020. Governor Recommends Monitoring Weather Throughout The Weekend
Governor Greg Abbott today urged Texans to remain vigilant and closely monitor weather conditions as a tropical development in the Gulf is expected to impact parts of Texas this weekend. The storm may lead to dangerous flash flooding, especially in the upper Rio Grande Valley, the Coastal Bend, and the Texas Hill Country. The Governor is also preparing state resources to assist communities with potential flooding and heavy rainfall. Read the full announcement.

NEW! As of today, Magnolia ISD will start school on August 12 as planned with all students receiving instruction online through Labor Day. Planning for the 2020-2021 School Year

NEW! As of today, out of an abundance of caution for students and staff, as well as ensuring they have adequate staffing, Tomball ISD has made the decision to start the school year on Tuesday, August 18, with ALL students in remote/virtual instruction only. Return to Excellence – Reopening 2020
 
Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null announced on July 20, 2020, the school year will begin on August 12, 2020, and ALL students will begin in remote/online instruction only. Traditional in-person instruction is scheduled to begin no earlier than September 8, 2020.

The Woodlands Township will re-open Riva Row Boat House on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Normal operating hours will be in effect, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with last boats going out at 7 p.m., closed on Wednesdays only. Read the full release for more information.

Pavilion

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Goes Virtual for Free Arts Outreach Program
Though The Pavilion’s Main Stage is currently dark, the non-profit organization is strongly committed to continuing to provide cultural enrichment for both young audiences and the public at large by increasing exposure to the arts. The Pavilion has recently launched several of its free educational outreach programs virtually for families to enjoy from the safety of their homes.
 
This season’s free Mini Maestros kids club is being offered through a digital experience via Google Classroom. The Pavilion is also excited to launch the Virtual Scout Day Program this season as a way for Scouts BSA to achieve their Music Merit Badge. Read the full release for more information.
