Township issues reminders during COVID surge
During the current nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases, particularly the Delta variant, the Township reminds residents to stay safe and well and to help mitigate the spread of the virus.
Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can sadly confirm a record-breaking day related to COVID-19 in Montgomery County.
Today, September 1, 2021, MCPHD marked:
1.) A new all-time high of active COVID-19 cases.
2.) A new all-time high of ICU patients with COVID-19.
3.) A new all-time high of COVID-19 cases in children (ages 0-11).
The testing positivity rate in Montgomery County has remained steady over the past few weeks and is currently at 21% as of Wednesday, September 1, 2021. The Harris County COVID-19 Threat Level remains at Level 1 (Severe Threat).

The FDA recently gave full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine
, which will be marketed as Comirnaty, for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. This approval has been reinforced as of August 30, 2021, by the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation for use of the Pfizer-BioNTech’s licensed vaccine for people 16 and older.
“We now have a fully approved COVID-19 vaccine and ACIP has added its recommendation. If you have been waiting for this approval before getting the vaccine, now is the time to get vaccinated and join the more than 173 million Americans who are already fully vaccinated,” said CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. The Woodlands Township is a host location for COVID-19 testing provided by Curative, Inc. Testing takes place seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Closed Labor Day, Monday, August 6, 2021) The Township offers free testing through Curative at three locations
