Board of Directors Holds Meeting

On Thursday, August 18, 2016, The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a regular meeting and addressed a variety of topics, including the awarding of a bid for the 2016 Presidential Survey which will be conducted this fall. The entire meeting can be watched on the Township website. Township Budget Workshop Recap  

At the final budget workshop, The Woodlands Township Board of Directors recommended an ad valorem tax rate of 23 cents per $100 of taxable property value, which is equal to the current 2015 tax rate. Two public hearings will be held before the Board adopts the 2016 property tax rate at a special Board meeting on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. The recommended 2017 budget includes enhanced services to residents and preparation for future growth. Due to inclement weather and poor field conditions, the Boots vs. Badges Softball Game that was scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled. The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch is working closely with partner agencies to reschedule the annual event which celebrates National Night Out. The new school year begins Monday, August 22, 2016, and The Woodlands Township reminds residents to be aware of reduced speed limits and restrictions on cellphone use in school zones. Residents should expect and be cautious of additional automobile and foot traffic before and after school hours.
